TAP

Tap 1 is a class for new tappers or those looking to return to tap. Students will learn simple steps that they will use through out all tap classes. By the end of this class, students will be familiar with simple tap vocabulary and step execution as well as simple rhythms and dancing at tempo.

Tap 2 is a class for students who have completed Tap 1 or those looking to return to tap. Students will begin joining simple steps to learn new tap vocaulary. By the end of this class, students will be able to create their own simple vocabulary combinations and echo simple rhythms. Students will have a solid understanding of Broadway style tap vocabulary and how rhythms work with the tempo to create more complex sounds.

Tap 3 is a class for students who have completed Tap 1 and 2. Students will learn time steps and master Broadway tap skills and begin moving toward a more rhythmic approach. Students will begin working on trick steps and improving improvisational and rhythmic skills.

Tap 4 is a class for students who have completed Tap 1, 2 and 3. Students will work on rhythm tap skills and begin moving toward executing steps at a faster tempo. Students will continue to use improvisational skills to improve use of rhythm including a capella work.

Tap 5 is a class for students who have completed all other tap classes. Students will continue work on intermediate-advanced rhythm tap skills including slides and steps with multiple sounds per second. Students will be proficient in advanced level steps and able to experiment with adding sounds.
